LP-4 in Autumn, 1994 - Aerial Photos

We were flying an ex Turkish Army L-18C from Manisa Organize Airstrip (900m concrete runway) during 1993-1994 period. After I have discovered the LP-4 (Manisa) Site from the ground, I talked my instructor into finding the site from the air and taking some aerial photos. He somehow agreed and after we took off I directed him to the general direction of the site while we were in the air. We found it quite easily and remember that there was no Internet, no GPS etc. those days and I think I did a pretty good job directing us the correct heading. We flew around the site a while, circling it and I took these aerial shots. The year was 1994. LP4 was mostly intact that time (complete with lightning arrester towers, water tower and complete buildings) and the view was amazing. A deserted historical site that was not known by many people even in Manisa city. That was a great day of my life. (Murat Akbulut)
